According to boredpanda, it’s usually harder for animals with deformities to be adopted from shelters. However, a puppy named Lisa was fortunate enough to find her forever home. She was only 10 weeks old when she arrived at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley with scars all over her face and inflamed eyelids that required surgery. The shelter staff didn’t expect to find her a home until Christine Doblar and her family visited. Although Lisa had a unique appearance, Doblar and her family were drawn to her sparkling personality. They were worried someone else would adopt her before they had the chance, so they decided to adopt her on the same day. The Doblar family renamed her “Lucky,” and she has been living happily with them ever since.
The scars on her face were noticeable and she needed an operation to fix her eyelids.
According to Finnegan Dowling from HSSV, she might not be the easiest person to lay your eyes on.
The employees at the shelter had doubts about Lisa’s chances of being adopted.
It wasn’t until the arrival of Christine Doblar and her family that things changed.
Her personality is simply amazing and shines like a bright star. We browsed through a couple of other dog options, but no one could even come close to her charm.
The household made a mutual decision to change the new member’s name to Lucky, citing that they were both fortunate, and took her into their care instantly.
