At the American Music Awards held on November 24th at the Microsoft Theater, Dua Lipa, the popular dance-pop singer from the U.K., dazzled the audience with her latest Hot 100 top 40 hit titled “Don’t Start Now”. Her performance involved impressive choreography and a sparkling presence on stage.
With her blonde ponytail swaying, Dua put on a show that oozed confidence, proving she was back with a vengeance. Accompanied by a troupe of backup dancers, they strutted and grooved around cube-shaped side tables, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
Finally, a bunch of round balloons in silver color rained down from the top of the theater. These cushion-like balloons kept bouncing around even after the show had concluded, making for a delightful sight on camera.
Dua Lipa’s latest track, “Don’t Start Now,” was anticipated to be the first release from her highly awaited second album. However, it seems that the song has not fared too well on the charts, as it has dropped from its initial debut at No. 30 to No. 46 on the Hot 100 this week. Despite this setback, Dua can still take pride in the fact that “Don’t Start Now” marks her third top 40 hit on the chart, following the success of “New Rules” in 2018, which peaked at No. 6, and “One Kiss,” her collaboration with Calvin Harris which hit No. 26 later that year.
